Cholesterol is an essential structural component of all cells and is a major component of brain and nerve cells. Cholesterol can harm the body if the amount is too much in the blood will later form deposits in the walls of blood vessels so that there is a narrowing called atherosclerosis. Body Mass Index (BMI) is a simple method used to monitor the nutritional status of an individual. The body mass index is the standard ratio of weight to height and is often used as an indicator of general health. The purpose of this study is to describe the cholesterol level in adolescents based on body mass index using the CHOD-PAP method at Maharani Pharmacy Pharmacy Malang. The number of samples in this study were 32 respondents consisting of thin body mass index 8 respondents, normal 8 respondents, 8 over weight, and obesity 8 respondents. The results showed that high cholesterol levels were 8 students (25%) and 24 students (75%) had normal cholesterol levels. High cholesterol levels in this study are thought to be caused by lack of physical activity, consumption of fatty foods, genetic factors and hormonal factors. Based on these results it is expected that students can maintain body mass index, pay attention to food intake and physical activity to maintain cholesterol levels in the body.
