ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN MASALAH ULKUS DEKUBITUS DENGAN GANGGUAN INTEGRITAS KULIT MENGGUNAKAN INTERVENSI TERAPI PEMBERIAN VIRGIN COCONUT OIL (VCO) DI INTENSIVE CARE UNIT RS SAIFUL ANWAR MALANG

Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is an important part of a health care facility designed to treat patients in critical condition and require intensive monitoring and care. ICU patients have limited mobility which can pose a risk of pressure ulcers on the back. Causes of decubitus ulcers include immobilization caused by primary illness or use of assistive devices, impaired blood circulation due to prolonged body pressure in certain areas and fragile skin conditions due to malnutrition causing impaired skin integrity. Independent nursing interventions carried out were the administration of virgin coconut oil (VCO). The purpose of this study was to provide medical surgical nursing care for impaired skin integrity with intervention and administration of virgin coconut oil (VCO) in the ICU. This study used a case study method with 3 respondents who received comprehensive nursing care from assessment, nursing diagnosis, intervention plan, implementation and evaluation. The results of the study after nursing care with the implementation of periodic repositioning and administration of virgin coconut oil (VCO) for 3 days on the client, had improved with the results of reduced redness of the back and sacrum, moist skin, skin that was not warm to the touch and the participant's body temperature decreased. Giving virgin coconut oil (VCO) can provide moisture to the skin so that it can maintain the skin so that it can get good blood circulation, so that it can reduce the occurrence of skin integrity disorders and the anti-inflammatory properties of virgin coconut oil (VCO) help reduce inflammation in the wound area
